So I’m in London
May 3, 2007

I have arrived safely in London.
It’s awesome to catch up with old friends and get involved in this vast city.
My only wine experience to date on this trip is a bottle of KC Cab Sav Merlot 2004 that I had on the plane from South Africa - a nice choice from SAA - I enjoyed both of the fruit friven bottles that I had.
I was hoping that two bottles of wine and the altitude would combine well to put me to sleep for the entire flight - nada, didn’t sleep a wink.
I supose I have had another wine ‘experience’ so to speak. I couldn’t help running, like a Cheetah, into Sainsbury’s to see what the wine selection was like. Well it was like being a kid in a candy store - salivating selection. French, Spanish, Chilean, Italian, American and South African - all represented .
The South African selection was a little bit of a let down - some good bottles but also some really crap stuff representing our industry. It’s a cost driven market so what can you do - I hope to see us move away from being the wine that people know is going to be on special.
I’m really looking forward to sampling wine from all over the world -I know where all of my money is going that’s for sure! I’ll report back soon!

Hey! At last we hear something from you. I’ve been wondering whether or not you were able to fight down the fans on that side of the world!
Don’t forget about your co-bloggers back home, please!
