On my recent trip to Botswana - I took along a bottle of port for those magical ’sitting around a campfire in the African bush’ kind of moments.

I was a little puzzled by the poor representation of S.A Shiraz in the John Platters S.A Wine Guide 5 Star list and began to wonder why? Surely there must be more than one five star wine out there..somewhere?

A Wine fit for a Maestro

Luciano Pavarotti died today at the age of 71.
His voice was unforgettable - “a wonderfully honeyed, natural voice - a gift from god that came just once in a generation.”
It was rich, harmonious, soothing, balanced and spine tingling in full cry.
