Wine of the Week

Date March 12, 2008

I have just spent a couple of days touring the Cape winelands with my immediate and extended family who were down here for the Cape Argus Cycle Tour.

We visited some fantastic wineries - of which I’ll give a full report - but the standout wine for everyone was this one:

L’Ormarins Chardonnay

Beautifully balanced, light and fresh! Some zesty, citrus fruit flavours with an intoxicating ‘buttered toast’ finish that you just cant get enough of and need to go back for more of - again and again.

What intrigued me about this wine was the myriad of understated flavours that kept me guessing before the ‘buttered toast’ crept in to finish everything off ever so elegantly with lasting impact!

Grab this bottle for a special occasion - pair it with some rich food it will be a knockout!
