WOSA’s invitation to the number one wine blogger in the world pays off - for Eben Sadie.

Date October 6, 2008

WOSA invited Alder Yarrow of Vinography to attend Cape Wine 2008 and it seems to have paid off - for some and none more so than Eben Sadie.

Vinography has been flooded with coverage of South African wine (much needed too) and the verdict on the overall quality output of our wine ranges from great to poor with no middle ground.

I think the most notable point though is that Alder discovered winemaker Eben Sadieand his phenomenal wines.

He had this to say:

“Without a doubt, Eben Sadie’s wines were the finest I tasted during my entire trip to South Africa. But it is not enough to simply say they were better than every other South African wine I tasted, because this does not give them enough credit on their own. These wines are truly phenomenal — individual, quirky, passionate, and deeply satisfying. I cannot recommend them highly enough. And thankfully they are all available in the United States.”

I don’t think South Africa has ever had a wine (or a winemaker for that matter) with a cult following internationally - could this be the start of one?

Thanks for the nod, sir. And thanks for the glass of bubbly, too!
