The Cru is now on Twitter
December 2, 2008
As the headline suggest - The Cru now has a profile on Twitter.
Click here to become a Twitter friend of The Cru.
Twitter enables real time conversations through real time status updates.
Anyway the main reason I’ve joined is to allow myself and Cru readers the opportunity to discuss wine and wine related topics in real time.
So from time to time I’ll be online (well usually always) to discuss a bottle of vino with you!
I’ll also announce certain topics that I think warrant some discussion - like the latest Diners Club Winemaker of the Year competition debacle.
In fact lets discuss that now - what do you think about Duncan Savage being stripped of the title for having too little production available?
I’ll also publish, with your permission, any of the more interesting tasting notes that come out of the cyber conversations (I’ll be sure to credit everyone with their tasting note)
I look forward to it - so please join in the conversation whenever you have the time.

Hi Brendon, I will be interested to see how your go on twitter. I have been on sporadically for a couple of months -and arguably that’s been the problem- and haven’t had many meaningful interactions. The SA twitter space is still very much in its infancy and is even more of a rarefied space than the SA blogosphere. But maybe being the ahead of the curve will pay off in the long run… Keep us updated. Take care, SB

I think what you may find is that Twitter connects you with a diversified bunch of people, both locally and internationally. The amount of relevant (and non) information and links are staggering and if you update and contribute regularly, opportunities do arise.
It’s not something that happens overnight though. As with all social networking platforms, including blogging, it takes a while to establish credibility and connections.
I’ll be looking out for your contributions.
Cheers
