Does Apartheid still lurk in wine making?

Date January 23, 2009

Henre Rossouw of Wine Country has asked a very bold and pertinent question on his blog:

Does Apartheid still lurk in wine making?

He argues that while some steps have been taken to accelerate BEE within our wine industry - the results are far from resounding.

On the surface - my answer would be a simple : Yes.

But perhaps there is more to this than meets the eye - so I invite both you and in particular WOSA to take part in this interesting conversation.

Head on over to Henre’s blog and get commenting.

Hi Brendon, thanks for linking. Much appreciated. It would be interesting to see what the pros reckon. With Obama’s election, a lot of emphasis is again placed on racial equality and it couldn’t help but proliferate to our shores.

    Cheers
