A fantastic and affordable Cabernet Sauvignon
February 17, 2009
If you’re looking for an affordable and incredibly enjoyable Cabernet Sauvignon - then look no further than the following little gem:
Diemersdal Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
Soft, clean flavours of juicy red fruit, chocolate and toasted oak. Refined tannins create a smooth and lingering finish.
At R56 a bottle - this wine is great value for money and it would seem that pretty much all of Diemersdal’s wines are.
I took this little bottle of vino along with me to a dinner with some old work colleagues at Pastis Bistro Brasserie in Constantia - everyone at the table waxed on about how lovely the wine was and in particular how smooth it was.
Pastis itself is a lovely little restaurant that exudes a lot of charm and is blessed with a beautiful setting - the food was enjoyable but I expected just a little bit more ‘French flair’.
