Solms Delta Oesfees 2009
March 26, 2009
Last year I attended the inaugural Oesfees at Solms Delta in Franschhoek and can report that It was an absolute blast - so much so that I vowed to go every year from then on.
This year it seems like it’s going to even bigger and better - with tickets already selling like Huguenot hot cakes.
The Solms Delta Oesfees 2009 is a traditional event that embraces South African history through the Cape’s rich musical and culinary heritage in an authentic celebration of the harvest.
It’s a fantastic opportunity for farm-workers, farm owners, food lovers, wine lovers and music lovers alike to come together and join in on the end-of-season revelry.
It’s a chance for all of us to feast on traditional cuisine (bobotie perhaps?), sing along to traditional music (played by the legendary likes of Robbie Jansen and Valiant Swart) and get sap on fantastic wine (Cape Jazz Shiraz anyone!) - I’m telling you what more does one need to have a good time!
This charming, truly unique festival takes place on Saturday 4 April from 13h00-21h00 at Solms-Delta Wine Estate - Delta Road, off the R45, Franschhoek Valley.
Tickets cost R150.00 per person through Computicket outlets countrywide. For ticket enquiries or more information please contact Therese on 021 874 3937 or Cathy on info@solms-delta.co.za.
I trust that I’ll see all of you there - you dont want to miss it.
“The music never stops; I am certain that I have just experienced one of the highlights of my year in South Africa…” said one American tourist.
