Last nights Wine X 2009 at the Cape Town Convention Centre was a real blast - thoroughly entertaining and fun.
Some observations:
- there were notably less estates attending - which actually wasn’t a bad thing
- the show was a little more dynamic this year with more features and fun stands (under the influence E2)

I was in the beautiful Cape winelands yesterday (amid the 33 degree heat) - and decided to pop into the esteemed Simonsig Wine Estate.
Other than the well known Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Cap Classique - I hadn’t tried many of their wines and was very eager to do so.

On Saturday I took a long overdue trip to Graham Beck in Franschhoek.
The scenery on route to the esteemed farm is breathtaking - ancient ‘grayscale’ mountains standing proud over the lime green magnificence of the Franschhoek valley. The short trip from Cape Town is perfect for an ‘any day of the week’ afternoon drive!
