The glowing success story that is the Stormhoek brand seems to have run into a hurricane of it’s own.
Orbital Wines in London has shackled up its windows and has ceased all operations. Meaning that Stormhoek is in a bit of pickle - because Orbital owns the rights to the brand in the UK.

The Goose wines
Retief Goosen has started his own brand of wine, called Fine Wines by the Goose. The farm, interestingly enough called Ganzekraal is located in the Upper Langkloof, not far from Goosen’s house in George. I think this is rather important and pleasing news for the South African wine industry.
“The government has rejected an application from a South African-born scientist and his business partners to sell genetically modified yeast to local wine producers, saying it cannot risk jeopardizing the industry’s access to key European markets.”
